Zoo Herberstein
Where you can catch a look at animals from five different continents.

Timon & Pumbaa, Simba & Nala, Baloo & King Loui and many other animals live at the animal world Herberstein. They enjoy live at the wonderful south-east Styria. 85 different animal species from all continents live at this zoo. The whole area has about 23 hectare and is structured after the principle of a geo-zoo.

Africa – America – Eurasia – Australia

The embodiment of wilderness – Africa – experience the peaceful coexistent of zebras and gnu or the fastest terrestrial mammal at hunt at a prey simulator, which was invented at Herberstein…

America offers a wide variety of different habitats – from the tropical jungle over dizzying heights of the mountains to the wild prairie – as diverse as its denizen.

You can find many native wild animals at Europe for example the lynx who had been disappearing from wild a long time ago.

The animal world of the biggest continent of earth – Asia – has a lot to offer.

Australia has because of its remoteness area a distinctive world of animals. The spacious grounds with emus and Bennett-kangaroo only shows a part of it.

The entrance fee includes:
  • Zoo incl. feedings with commentary
  • Garden Castle Herberstein incl. guided tours through the castle (daily at 12am, 1pm, 2pm and 3pm)
  • Gironcoli-Museum, Historical Garden, Siegmund's garden, round walk through the Feistritzklamm (gorge)
